Tobacco 21: Council Approves, Mayor Vetos
Despite the St. Cloud City Council approving on a 4-3 vote Monday an ordinance amendment to raise the tobacco-buying age from 18 to 21, Mayor Dave Kleis said he will veto the ordinance.
“I can’t support it, and I won’t sign it,” he said.
The vote and Kleis’ promise to veto came after a public hearing Monday where more than 40 people spoke.
